6. Hair Growth: Garlic Benefits

Garlic Benefits
Garlic helps to boost Hair Growth

Have you ever wondered why some people have a full head of hair well into old age, yet others tend to thin out even in their early 20s?

The main issue here is called patterned hair loss or androgenetic alopecia.

The hair tends to recede from the front or back of the head in men, but also in women. This is caused by a buildup of a hormone called DHT, which shrinks the hair follicle and slows the growth cycle of your hair (anagen phase), causing hair loss.

Fortunately, garlic and onions contain potent natural chemicals, including alicin and quercetin, which help block DHT and help your hair grow normally.

Simply peel the cloves from a whole head of garlic, and 1/2 a red onion.

Place these in a food processor with 500 ml (2 cups) of water and blend. Rub this garlic and onion liquid onto your scalp for 15 minutes each day before your shower and wash it out.

This liquid helps block an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase and DHT, to improve the health of your hair follicles and promote faster hair growth.
